Loads from YouTube when you press play.

Omnisend already shows you the numbers. What it cannot do is tell you what to change. You get open rates, click rates and revenue, and then you are on your own working out which automation is underperforming and which segment you are ignoring.

The Omnisend MCP closes that gap. You connect your account to ChatGPT or Claude, and from then on you ask questions in plain language and get answers drawn from your real data. No dashboards, no exporting reports, no guessing.

Connecting your account

In ChatGPT, open the sidebar, go to Apps and search for Omnisend. Log in to Omnisend first so the connection picks up the right account, and use Switch stores if you run more than one. You will be shown exactly which data the connection can reach before you authorise it. Once it is live, select Omnisend in a new chat and start asking. Claude connects the same way.

The prompts worth starting with

  • Which of my last five email campaigns performed best based on CTR?
  • Audit my email marketing and score it out of ten.
  • What segments should I be sending to that I am not?
  • Build me a Black Friday campaign: segments, template and draft.
  • Why are my open rates down this month?
  • When should I send to my UK list to get maximum opens?
  • Tell me if my emails are going to spam.

What the audit actually found

Running the audit on my own account scored it 72 out of 100, and the useful part was where it pointed. Campaign emails were performing well. Automations were not: far fewer opens and clicks than the broadcasts, and the reason turned out to be a pile of disabled, duplicated and half-finished test workflows cluttering the account.

It then gave a priority order rather than a list of platitudes. Clean out the automations that should not be running, build a proper welcome sequence for new subscribers, then abandoned checkout, product abandonment, post-purchase and review requests. That is a fortnight of work identified in about thirty seconds.

Segments you are probably ignoring

Asked which segments deserved attention, it named the ones sitting unused in the account: subscribers who opened in the last 30 days, people who both open and click, engaged subscribers who have never bought, champions and loyalists who have already spent heavily, and repeat buyers who have gone quiet. Each of those is a different email, and most stores send all of them the same one.

A Black Friday campaign, built in about a minute

This is the part that changes how you work. I asked for a Black Friday campaign and it built one: a new segment of 212 contacts combining recent openers, recent clickers, high-value customer stages and past buyers who had not ordered in six months. Then an email template, then the campaign copy, then a campaign draft with all of it wired together.

Worth noting what it did not do. It said up front that it would avoid sending anything live, and it asked permission before each step that changed the account. The campaign sits in draft until you review and activate it yourself.

Timing, deliverability and the smaller questions

The same connection answers the quick ones. Open rates down this month turned out to be a drop of barely a point, not the problem it felt like. Send timing for the UK list came back with a specific hour that had consistently produced the highest opens for that audience. The spam question came back clean, with complaint rates at zero across both 30 and 90 days.
